Community Update: 01-14-2026 NCS JH-SH Principal Appointment

NCS Community-

Happy New Year!  I hope this message finds you well.  I wanted to provide an update to our school and community regarding the NCS JH/HS Principal search.  This important process began in November and I would like to thank all of our staff, administrators, students, and parents who participated in the process.

This afternoon, the NCS Board of Education appointed Mrs. Kaitlin LaFave as the NCS JH/SH Principal.  Mrs. LaFave comes to NCS from the Canandaigua CSD where she is currently serving as a HS Assistant Principal.  Prior to that she has taught high school English/Language Arts in the Honeoye Falls CSD and has also taught and served in various leadership positions within the Honeoye Central School District.

Mrs. LaFave’s diverse experiences at the high school level, along with her familiarity with the Finger Lakes region will no doubt be an asset to our school and community.  Mrs. LaFave plans to transition to the district on February 16th and I know she looks forward to connecting with all NCS stakeholders.   Upon her appointment, she shared:

“I am honored and excited to join Naples Central School District as the new Jr/Sr. High School Principal. Naples has always stood out to me as a close-knit community that values relationships, tradition, and student success. I believe deeply in putting relationships first, maintaining high expectations with strong support, and working collaboratively with families and staff to ensure every student feels known, valued, and supported. I look forward to getting to know the students, families, and staff, and partnering together to continue the strong work already happening at NCS.”

I thank Kaitlin for her commitment to the process and look forward to her guidance in ensuring our students will continue to have opportunities that allow them to succeed in their chosen pursuits.
