NCS Community Update 9-23-25

To The Naples CSD Community,

I am writing to provide an update regarding the disruption to the Naples Central School District community over the past few weeks.  As of today, the staff member in question has resigned from the school district, and we consider the matter resolved.  This has been a difficult time for NCSD, and I hope we can now return our focus to all that is positive within our district.

Our students have had an outstanding start to the school year, both in the classroom and on the athletic fields. They have also been nothing short of amazing in transitioning to a school setting now void of internet-enabled personal devices per NYS law. While we teach our students every day, we also learn from them. They have shown us, even in 2025 it is possible to disconnect, and that face-to-face interactions are an essential part of our well-being.

There will always be moments where our emotions run high as events unfold locally, regionally, or nationally. In those times, I encourage us all to pause before reacting and instead embrace reflection, respectful dialogue, and activities that bring us peace. This is what we teach and expect of our students, and I’m optimistic we can model it ourselves. Our school, community, and country will be better for it.

NCSD stands with the community in upholding the values of kindness, empathy, compassion, and civility. Thank you for your understanding and ongoing support of our students and school district.
