2023 NCS Graduation

 

Over the past 48 hours, we have been carefully monitoring the predicted weather for Saturday. As I shared Wednesday, it is not possible to make quick shifts or adjustments with our graduation location given the many hours of time it takes for set up.

 

Currently, forecasts indicate that there is a significant chance for rain (and potential strong storms/heavy localized down pours) during the day on Saturday. Many of these showers are predicted to be of the “pop-up” variety. As such, we are making the decision to move our ceremony inside to the HS Gymnasium. The start time will remain the same (11:00 AM). While the elementary gymnasium is larger, use of this space is not possible due to class asbestos work that is beginning at NES on Monday; hallways and open spaces near the gym are being used for furniture storage as a result.

 

Again, there will be no need for tickets and all are welcome. We have utilized the HS gymnasium in previous years for graduation with successful outcomes and this year should be no different. We are also working to provide a live stream link for the ceremony; please check the district website or Facebook page for that link as it will be posted later today. While none of us can accurately predict what Saturday’s weather will bring, the safety of everyone and the assurance of a smooth and predictable ceremony for our students and guests is of top priority.
