New Faces in Naples!

Dear Naples School Community:

There is a saying that "the quality of an education system cannot exceed the quality of its teachers." For generations, Naples has been blessed with a world-class faculty and staff, and that tradition continues as we welcome a new group of dynamic educators to NCS.

As we prepare for the start of the 2017-2018 school year, I wanted to introduce many of the new faces you will see in our buildings by passing along information through our website and social media accounts. We are thrilled that Mr. Greg Parzych will be joining our school family, and I would invite you to help us welcome him to Naples this fall.

Hope to see you soon.

Matt Frahm, Superintendent

Name: Mr. Greg Parzych

Subject Area: Secondary Social Studies

Why did you decide to apply/accept the job in the Naples Central School District?

I had recently relocated to the finger lakes region to be closer to my wife's family after she took a new job and I knew it was one of the best small schools in the area so when I saw there was a job posting I knew I had to apply.

What do you like the most about your job?

I like that you make a difference every single day. Education is a very rewarding career where you can leave a lasting impact that helps to shape future generations.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I like to play golf, coach/play basketball, work out, and go on hikes.

What types of books/magazines would we see on your bookshelf?

I love books on leadership, building culture, teamwork and building a better version of yourself (my favorite author is Jon Gordon). I definitely have some history books, along with some cook books and sports books/magazines

What is your favorite quote?

"Nothing can stop the man with the right mental attitude from achieving his goals; nothing on earth can help the man with the wrong mental attitude."
-Thomas Jefferson

What is your favorite food?

Steak and cheese subs

Tell us a little about your family.

I am recently married, and my wife is a teacher and coach in the Marcus Whitman school district. Both of my parents are retired teachers. I have one brother who is married and has one son and they are expecting their second child this winter.

If you were to leave a legacy here in Naples-what would it be?

I would like to leave a legacy of getting better every single day. Big changes don't happen overnight, but if people are committed and buy into make themselves better every day whether it is academically, personally, or professionally then it won't be my legacy, but the legacy of the school to always be improving in the future. Trust the process of positive change.
