New Faces in Naples:Mrs. Reigelsperger

Dear Naples School Community:

After extensively studying student performance, the researcher and policy expert Eric Hanushek found that “the difference between being taught by a highly capable and a less than capable teacher can translate into a full grade level of achievement in a single school year.” Fortunately for us, the Naples Central School District continues to be home to an incredible group of educators.

As we prepare for the start of the 2019-2020 school year, I wanted to introduce many of the new faces you will see in our buildings by passing along information through our website and social media accounts. We are thrilled that Mrs. Heather Reigelsperger will be joining our school family, and I would invite you to help us welcome her to Naples this fall.

Hope to see you soon.

Matt Frahm, Superintendent

Name: Mrs. Heather Reigelsperger

Subject Area: Secondary Spanish Teacher

Why did you decide to apply/accept the job in the Naples Central School District?

I am a resident of Naples and a parent of two in the district.  Naples has provided an outstanding education for our children and is full of caring and dedicated people who want the best for our kids.  I am excited to join the Naples School family and look forward to getting involved and providing enriching experiences for our kids.

What do you like the most about your job?

I am passionate about sharing my love of language and culture with youth.  It's so rewarding to see students interact in another language and to learn that students have chosen to continue language study and even study abroad after high school.  It is my hope that exposing students to these differences will equip them with important tools needed in everyday life in the diverse world in which we live.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I cherish time with my family- spending time outdoors, watching baseball, soccer, basketball, swimming, and cross-country races.  I love to travel (ANYWHERE!), exercise, read, and I cannot leave out spending time with our Goldendoodle named Clover.

What types of books/magazines would we see on your bookshelf?
My favorite books to read are dramas, mysteries and non-fiction history. Favorite authors include Janet Evanovich, Liane Moriarty, Jennifer Weiner, and Nicholas Sparks.  I truly enjoy reading the hard copy newspaper, too!

What is your favorite quote?

Sí se puede. (You can do it!)

What is your favorite food?

Salmon, salad, Perry's White Lightning ice cream.

Tell us a little about your family.

My husband is Brad (a Naples native), our son Drew is in 9th grade, and our daughter Erica is in 7th grade.  Originally, I am from Central Square, NY and my parents and younger brother and his family reside there today.  I have an older brother who lives with his family near Houston, Texas.

If you were to leave a legacy here in Naples-what would it be?

I want to be remembered for teaching others to always choose kindness, to find the positives in everything in life, to find value in differences, and to be brave and go outside their comfort zone.
