Community Update October 28, 2022 Community Update October 28, 2022 NCS Community Update | 10-28-22 Good Afternoon, I hope this message finds you well.  It seems like just yesterday that were welcoming our students back to school and now we are just a few weeks away from the conclusion of fall and the Thanksgiving Holiday.  As such, the end of the first marking periods, both at NES and NJH/HS will also be upon us soon.  To that end, this is an excellent time to engage in conversations with your children to have them reflect upon what is going well, what might be challenging, and goals that might make sense for the remainder of the school year, whether they be academic, social, or behavioral in nature.  This information can be valuable as you prepare for your child’s parent conference later in November.  Specific ...
Community Update October 7, 2022 Community Update October 7, 2022 10-7-22 NCS Community, I hope this communication finds you well.  It is hard to believe that we are now well into October.  Our students and staff have settled into routines which create a sense of predictability and consistency.  We know that this is beneficial for our students, both academically as well as emotionally.  As we move further into October, our fall sports teams will be preparing for sectional competition and we wish all of our athletes the best of luck going forward. As you may recall last December, the NCS community approved a 16.32 million dollar referendum to support our 2023 capital project.  Identified areas of focus for this project included significant renovations to our HS auditorium, classroom renovations at the Naples Elementary School, ...

It seems like just yesterday we were recognizing our class of 2022 at graduation, and yet we are now only a few weeks away from the start of the 22-23 school year. For the first time in three years, we anticipate a school re-opening that should feel “more typical” this year given we are no longer managing a myriad of Covid requirements. As was the case beginning in March, masking remains optional for our students and staff and of course ...

Covid Protocols Update Covid Protocols Update ** Please note this info is subject to change. Please look out for additional communication from the Superintendent. ** The New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) has indicated they will no longer be contact tracing potential COVID exposures for individuals. In consideration of this and based on Ontario County Public Health (OCPH) feedback, students who have been quarantined, due to an exposure on the bus or during breakfast or lunch, have very rarely contracted COVID from that exposure. Rather than conducting individual contact tracing, public health will work with schools to continue to do cluster contact tracing when there appears to be multiple cases within a setting or cohort (team, classroom, lunch table, etc.). A cluster outbreak and subsequent investigation will ...
